M2-Kodit information system upgrade – Submit a new application starting March 25
To keep your application valid, please submit a new application on our website starting from March 25 at m2kodit.fi/application. We apologize for any extra effort this change may cause. Please note that the change does not affect the processing of your application or the speed of receiving a housing offer. You do not need to resubmit any attachments.
We will update this notice as needed based on received questions and feedback. Please check this page for the most up-to-date information.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Renewing your application
Why aren’t applications being transferred?
The system is being replaced with a new one, and old applications cannot be transferred. If you still need housing, submitting a new application is necessary.
How do I submit a new application?
You can submit a new application on our website at m2kodit.fi/application starting from March 25.
I cannot submit an application online. What should I do?
We can send you a paper application form by mail. You can request it by emailing m2.asiakaspalvelu@ysaatio.fi or calling our customer service at +358 9 7742 5500.
Can customer service fill in the application for me?
The housing application must be filled in by the applicant. However, our customer service can provide guidance on how to complete the application.
Receiving a housing offer and application process
How does this change affect my chances of getting an apartment?
The change does not affect the speed of receiving a housing offer or the processing of your application. Applications are not placed in a queue based on submission order; instead, tenant selection continues to be based on housing need urgency, asset limits, and income thresholds.
What about application attachments or other documents?
You do not need to submit attachments when applying. If necessary, we will request them only when you are being offered an apartment.
Please note that, for data protection reasons, our customer service cannot receive attachments. If you wish to include documents with your application in advance, you can do so directly when submitting your housing application.
How long will my application be valid from now on?
Housing applications will be valid for three (3) months after submission. If you edit your application within those three months, the validity period resets, and the application remains valid for another three months from the date of the edit.
How do we communicate about this information system change
I received a text message from “YSaatio.” Is it legitimate?
Yes, M2-Kodit (part of Y-Säätiö) has sent information about the system change via SMS to applicants without a valid email address. The number is trustworthy, but replies cannot be sent to it.
I received an email/text message, but I am not your customer. What should I do?
Most likely, your contact information was incorrectly entered during an application submission. You can notify our customer service about this.
Editing applications and other situations
How can I edit an already submitted application?
Due to the system change, all applications submitted before March 25 will automatically expire and cannot be edited after this date. From March 25 onwards, you can submit a new application and edit it anytime. The application will remain valid for three months at a time, with the validity period renewing whenever changes are made to the application.
I no longer need an apartment. What should I do?
If you no longer need housing, you do not need to take any action or contact us. All applications submitted before March 25 will automatically expire when the new system is implemented.
