Starting August 2025, most students will move from the general housing allowance to the housing supplement included in study grants. What does this change mean for you if you are looking for a student rental or already live in an M2-Kodit apartment?
The amendment to the Rescue Act transfers the responsibility for installing and maintaining smoke alarms from residents to the building owner no later than January 1, 2026. Going forward, M2-Kodit will be responsible for ensuring that apartments have a sufficient number of smoke alarms.
Starting at the beginning of the year, maximum income limits will be applied to all government-supported rental housing. These income limits will affect both new tenant selections and any changes of residence within M2-Kodit's properties.
M2-Kodit is currently building six new houses for ARA rental apartments in Klaukkala, Kangasala, Espoo and Helsinki. The properties are expected to be completed in 2024 and 2025.
The police and data protection authorities are warning about scam text messages sent on behalf of landlords. M2-Kodit will never provide changed rent payment details by text message.
